Sansa E280 v2 install problems...
bluebrother:
Are you sure your player is actually a v2? Can you also post the USB part of the System Info dialog?
bennetron:
The back of the player says "model: e280v2" in tiny letters in the bottom right hand corner.
I am not sure what you mean by 'the USB part of the System Info Dialog'? I thought I'd posted the entire 'system trace' file, but maybe you mean something different?
Thanks,
B

That doesn't mean you have a V2, or really mean anything. You need to check the firmware version as noted in the installation section of the manual.

On that menu there are two options, "system trace" and "system info". You posted the system trace output, I'm guessing hes asking you for the other one now.

Or to be more precise: Sandisk is know to have shipped players with the wrong back case. So the back stating v2 doesn't mean it's a v2.

Yes, since that will show the USB IDs, and with that it's possible to figure if your player is a v1 or v2. Have you used the autodetection functionality in Rockbox Utility?
The System Trace would show them as well but only if you actually used a function that triggers checking those -- either autodetection (which you didn't, at least not in the run you posted the trace for) or by calling said menu.

Post Merge: July 02, 2012, 06:21:04 PMThanks for the suggestion that the player might not be v2 despite what is physically painted on the player! I just successfully rockboxed it Rockboxed as V1.
I appreciate all the help!
