Getting, "Error accessing playlist control file"

(1/1)

samhill:
I have a Sansa e280 v2 with an 8Gb card installed.  I'm running 3.11.2.

Soon after upgrading to 3.11.2 I noticed a message saying "Error accessing playlist control file" when I would unplug the USB cable.  Then, when I would try to resume listening to music it would start over in the playlist of 2510 files loaded on the player even though I had listened to perhaps 80 files before plugging in the unit.

I'm also unable to create a new playlist.  Whenever I would change the files and wanted to created a new playlist I would typically go to "Files" and select "root".  Normally I would see a display saying something to the effect that file number "X" of "Y" total files was found as it rapidly incremented X up to the total Y.  When it reached the total it would start playing the newly created playlist starting with 1 of XXXX total.

Now, though it resuffles the list, it always starts at 1 using the same total of 2510 regardless of changes I've made to the total by adding/removing files.

Not knowing what it would be called I assumed I could find the "playlist control file" somewhere in the PLAYLIST folder.  But, when I look there it only shows a file called, "Go List.plp" containing only the following:

PLP PLAYLIST
VERSION 1.20

I've looked everywhere else and can't find anything that would seem to play the role of a "playlist control file", so perhaps it got zapped somehow.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to get the playlist building feature working again would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Lear:
The playlist control file has the path /.rockbox/.playlist_control on the device. You could try deleting it, and see if that helps. Checking the filesystem for errors could be good too.
