Translations and UTF-8 charset

Hi all.
I've changed the language of my rockbox to use spanish language (espanol.lang) but I have problems with charset encoding.

For example, "Settings" becomes "Configuración", but shows "Configuraci n"
Same thing with all spanish characters: áéíóúñ (see attachment)

Questions:
1) Is utf8 supported for lang files?
2) How should I fix this problem?

P.S. I'm a developer, have no problem with dev tools.

This is probably "just" a problem with the font you're using. To make sure it's that, try using GNU unifont, which supports all of unicode. If that works, http://rasher.dk/rockbox/fontstats/ might be helpful in finding a font that works for you (or you can keep using unifont). If not, there's a bug.
