6.10 TimestretchEnabling Timestretch allows you to change the playback speed without it affectingthe pitch of the recording. After enabling this feature and rebooting, you can accessthis via the Pitch Screen. 6.10 TimestretchEnabling Timestretch allows you to change the playback speed without it affectingthe pitch of the recording. After enabling this feature in the Sound Settings, you must reboot and then activate Timestretch by going into the Pitch screen andpressing the REC button until you see both of the words "Pitch" and "Speed" in the middle of the screen. After that you can control pitch and speed separately via the Pitch Screen. (If you see "Rate" in the middle then the pitch and thespeed are changed together.) This function is intended for speech playback and maysignificantly dilute your listening experience with more complex audio. See section 4.3.3(page 36) for more details about how to use the feature.
I have no idea how many people make that mistake, but it might besomething to think about when laying out the manual.
Thanks for the info. Again, just a thought for the future, but it wouldhave helped me if there had just been a casual mention of "the followingkeystroke table" in the text part of that session. This probebaly makessense only when the table is on a separate page, which I understand is hard to predict. Or perhaps if each table had a little "table follows"header it would be easy to ignore when it wasn't separated from its table.(Just a thought, for what it's worth.)Well, maybe it's time for me to take a little trip straight through the manual, now that I've been using Rockbox for a few days and have mybearings. That just seemed daunting without any context.(Again, sorry for the confusion.)-LenI don't know if this actually works, but I have tried tochange the title of this thread to:"Spacing of tables in manual sometimes slightly confusing"
