Rockbox and Ipod mini 2G
(1/1)
Shinnen:
Hi,
I was given this player, no software, just the firewire cable, so I tried to install iTunes (several times) with no luck. (It would always hang during the installation with errors.) So..... I decided to try Rockbox. Everything seemed to go well, although it would automatically identify my player, but I was still able get it working.... sort of....... the music's there but it's in the 'database'. So far..... 'okay' ...... I could live with it if necessary. Problem is ...... that now Windows (xp) no longer sees my player.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
..... john

Rockbox doesn't support firewire, so you'll have to reboot to the original firmware to copy files (or get a USB cable).
You should be able to access your music through the file browser ("Files"), or the database, whichever you prefer. If you don't see it in "Files", check your "show files" setting.
(also, please try to format your text in a more conventional way. This was really hard to read)
