Fuze technical issue, screen shows gibberish and static
(1/1)
Locaj:
Hi,
First of all sorry if wrong section.
Got Sansa Fuze 4gb refurbished (around 8 months ago) was working fine until today.
Had Rockbox installed (but don't know version). To be honest don't even remember if I have player V1.0 or V2.0.
When cable is not plugged in it wont turn on at all.
When I plug in the cable it turns itself on (just like for charging) and shows Sansa logo (original one) but very distorted.
Like analog TV with very low signal strength.
The screen show "blowing up" Sansa logo very distorted and then suddenly static, than mayhem again and static again.
It changes several times between distortion and static and hangs on logo looking like JPG with CRC error (messed up with many yellow lines through the screen). Than I have to hold power slider for 20 seconds to turn off.
I posted on Rockbox forum coz on official they would prolly say its firmware fault.
When plugged to USB my PC cant see fuze at all.
Tried to hold power slider for 20-25 seconds (in fact its the only way to turn it off).
Goggled this problem but didst find anything similar.
Any ideas what might be the problem?
Thank you

If you can get it to boot, you could try and copy a new sandisk firmware over and see if that fixes it. But realistically, if it just randomly stopped booting and has a scrambled screen, its probably some kind of hardware problem.
