[SOLVED]Rockbox Incorrectly Reading SOME file names in Now Playing (sansa Clip+)
(1/1)
Bobazonski:
For every song I have on my Sansa Clip+, I title songs (in the file name, I ignore the overhead) as "Band Name - Song Name". Most of these are read correctly. Some, however, aren't. They'll show up in the "Files" as named correctly, but when I click to play them, they won't be displayed right in now playing (I use the "Balanced" theme for Now Playing).
For example, one file is titled "M83 - Midnight City" but it is displayed as "M83 - ". Another one is titled "Linkin Park - Shadow of the Day" but it is displayed as "Gino - shadows of the day". The former was downloaded, and saved directly with that file name. The latter's file name was changed later (the download name was incorrect). Both of these appear correctly titled in Files. I don't use Database.
All are also mp3 files of varying bitrates.
yapper:
Use something like mp3tag to examine the tags for the problem files. The description of the Balanced theme indicates it uses tags if present.
Bobazonski:
Thank you. I never even considered this would be the problem, because I always ignore the tags and everything ends up fine. But you were right, I revised the proper fields and it works now. Thank you!
