GB f40 No disk

cant find the original cd.  can I still install rockbox  firmware?any suggestions. thanks Ken

Yes, but it might be a bit of a hassle (or maybe not, depending on how lucky you are)

The gigabeat F needs the firmware directory to boot, but those don't have to be the original ones. You can get dummy files from http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/GigabeatFXPort#Improved_Boot_Time_40Optional_41

There's also the issue that *sometimes* the boot code doesn't like freshly formatted drives, in which case you have to go through some magic. That's described on the same wiki page, a bit further on.
