Installing Problems - iRiver H140

(1/1)

t0tor0:
hi,

wonder if someone can help me here.

i am using osx 10.7.4

i ran the Rockbox Utility. It detects the iRiver H140 ok. I downloaded a firmware (1.66 US) onto my desktop. Click "Complete Install". I then was prompted to search for the firmware which i did.

then it says there is already a firmware file present on the player. I search everywhere but didn't find anything!!! formatted several times (both using disk utility on OSX and the iRiver firmware) but still the same problem!

can someone advise? Below is the log

checking MD5 hash of input file ...
MD5 hash ok
Descrambling file
Downloading bootloader file
Download finished (cache used).
Adding bootloader to firmware file
Checking modified firmware file
A firmware file is already present on player
Post Merge: June 07, 2012, 10:25:15 AMTo add further,

I went into H140 to update the firmware, nothing happens.

I thought that perhaps the file is already patched and so i copied this file from my desktop to my root folder of the player and update the firmware, it is the same iRiver firmware.

Help will be much appreciated! thanks!!!

Please post the output of the About / Troubleshooting / System Trace dialog after the problem occured, that contains a lot more information than the progress output.

Your mountpoint is wrong. You selected /Volumes/eBooks while it should be /Volumes/H100.

For the H100 / H300 series it is not possible to detect the mountpoint. However, Rockbox Utility will try to detect the mountpoint by looking for an existing installation. This means that you seem to have accidentially installed Rockbox to the wrong device and therefore it will detect the wrong device later. Select the mountpoint manually (and you might want to consider removing the Rockbox installation from fhe wrong device)

ok thank!!!

will try out
