iPod Classic 6th Gen: Supported?

This may just be a documentation update issue, but looking at the "Buyer's Guide", it seems that iPod support only includes models that are no longer in production. I have the latest (model A1238) iPod Classic 160GB (among others), is this model supported?

It probably only lists stable ports. For port status check the list here www.rockbox.org

Thanks for the correct link!

I see it listed as Unusable on the page you reference, although I do see it listed as a new port under development on the Target Status page, so it looks like it might happen in the future.

I'm pretty much restricted to this unit as I use it in both my car (via USB to an Alpine iDA-X305 head unit) and a Roth Music Cocoon dock at home.


I've loaded Rockbox on my iPod Photo and like it, but neither of the above interfaces fully support the iPod Photo.  :(

It's quite likely that they won't support a Rockboxed iPod either; we don't support all variants of the accessory protocol, especially not the modern ones used by fancy amps/head units.
