Clip+ Dual Boot Problem

I am a new user of clip+ and its my first time to try rockbox.
I see the dual boot function of rockbox and wonder if I install the rockbox but use the original firmware, is there any loss of stability and battery life?
May you please share your feeling or any theoretical answer? Thank you.

If you aren't booted into rockbox it has no effect on anything.
