Playing Playlists In ClipZip
zolo1:
Hello Guys, Rockbox newbie, just recently able to load the latest Rockbox version 3.11.2 version on my Clipzip Version 01.01.20. Searching through out Forum, nothing comes up specifically under my Clip Zip version playlists, but only if I do a general search under playlists, which is overwhelming, many posts appear outdated etc, so not sure which solutions apply now to latest RB version I have etc.
Since so many different aspects of playlists discussions, since a Newbie, would like to know the simplest and most detailed way to get Rockbox to import my approx 50 Media M Monkey playlists in same order they are in, since some have a few hundred files? Also how to update new songs added in future from media Monkey into RB. Or if can at least point me to the best easy to follow instructions perhaps in a RB discussion? Many Thanks!!!!
Note:
Currently,Songs show in RB Database in my Clipzip, but only as these 01#s in song titles. None of my Media Monkey M3U playlists show at all. Also tried Resyncing with Media Monkey again to get playlists, but MM keep showing ipod as full no room, but Rockbox only shows 1.9 GB being used out of the 8 GB Total. Do I need to delete and rebuild all music on Clipzip?

Rockbox 3.11.2 doesn't run on the Clip Zip.

Rockbox uses m3u playlists, so you'll need to save m3u files to your player that contain paths to the files you want in the playlist.

I see, but my Rockbox Utility version shows 1.2.14, so I believe that is actual version. In player, shows Rockbox version 85a6715 loaded though.
I was able load on my Sansa Clipzip player.
Not sure how to correctly do the below, are you referring to scripts or something? Anywhere can I get full detailed instructions how to do this with my playlists? Thanks!

AlexP:
1.2.14 is the version of Rockbox Utility
You have a dev build on your player, referred to by the version of the source code it was built from.
m3u is a standard for playlist files used everywhere, have a look on google and I'm sure you can find a full explanation.

Yes, I am aware that m3u is a common playlist format for mp3 files, but I guess will have to further research a application that can save my m3u files to player that contain paths of files in playlist somehow.
Though, When I downloaded the latest Rockbox, I did not see anything saying it is not compatible with my Sansa Clipzip etc, only a few words that it is a bit unstable, but that it should work fine playing audio files etc.
So are you guys saying that even though I got it to load on my Clipzip, the latest Rockbox, it will not function correctly? What version of Rockbox can I use for my clip zip version 01.01.20? thanks!!!
