Bookmark on stop only in certain directory?

Is there a way to enable bookmarking on stop on a per directory basis?   If i'm listening to a podcast this feature is very useful.   If i'm listening to music it's pretty much useless to me.

Actually, there is. There's a setting which makes it only update existing bookmark files, not create new ones. Turn that on, and then make sure there's a preexisting bookmark on something in that directory, and then any time you are playing that directory, stop will create a bookmark.
