Bricked ClipZip?

(1/1)

Octopuss:
Help!
I plugged my ClipZip into the PC, new disks showed up but couldn't open, I tried to switch the player off and some error messages showed up and the whole thing shut down. Now I can't even switch it on again! What do I do??
Post Merge: May 18, 2012, 12:52:15 PMNevermind, tried to open the piece of crap and it cracked and felt apart. Stupid #@$%.

Can you put it back together?  I was going to suggest just holding power for 30 seconds to see if it reboots, or failing that letting the battery die.

Octopuss:
No, it's physically fubar :(
After I googled some pictures up I think there's not even any way to disconnect the battery at all.

By the way I specifically said it switched off, so there's nothing to reboot. It switched off and I couldn't switch it back on at all.

You have to cut the wires.

Just because the screen is off doesn't mean its actually switched off.  Its fairly common for the clip to freeze with the screen off.  Usually you just have to hold power, or at worst wait a day or two for the battery to run down.  I recommend putting it back together and trying that.

No, it was damaged beyond repair. I ordered a new one (grr), only this time I went with 4GB which is enough for gym needs. I can buy a card later.

I will try to remember to use the Safely remove hardware function everytime I plug the thing in the PC. Maybe it has something to do with it.
