Ipod Classic 80gb 6th Generation Problem

(1/1)

thehuperdebumper:
Hello!
I just got rockbox for my ipod classic, it worked fine in the beginning, but then my ipod got unplugged while plugged to my pc and now the system has somehow crashed. Although the Boot Menu still appears when the ipod is switched on, whenever i switch to the rockbox symbol, it says:  "no .rockbox directory" "Installation incomplete"
When plugged to windows, the ipod shows the connectionsymbol and the disk drive appears on my computer, however i cannot open it.
In Ubuntu, i can acces the disk drive, so i tried to restore it with these http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/IpodManualRestore instructions, but whenever i want to write the mdr file onto my ipod with "dd if=mbr-xxxx.bin of=/dev/sdX" it says file not file, although i downloaded it and the filename is correct.
I figured thet the harddrive could have a physical damage, but running badblocks over it diddnt work ("Error reading the disksize"), however the ipod didn't really fall, it sounds correct when working and i can save files on the disk.
I really have no idea what to do now, im not an it-expert and google wont help me.
Cheers!

Hi! Not sure what system/flavor/distri of Linux you are running but I would have thought that you simply need to copy one of the .rockbox folders from a current release into he root dir of you player. How did you get it going in the first place? Using emCore? Try looking at the 'Headfi' forum, under 'Ipod classic - rockbox - it's happening!'

Good luck!
