How to revert reverse BL to regular bootloader: do I just overwrite?

(1/1)

jyang:
I have the reverse bootloader for my Sansa E200v1, and want to revert to the regular one. Using the Rockbox Utility, do I need to remove the reverse one first and then install the new one, or just overwrite? Or, would I have to manually remove the reverse one first somehow (will the Utility not recognize and find the reverse one)?

I know I could just try by trial and error, but wanted to check in first.. Thanks for the trouble.

You can't use Rockbox Utility to install a custom bootloader. Rockbox Utility only installs the official bootloader (which it downloads from the official download page). You need to use sansapatcher for this.

jyang:
Thanks.. I only want to install the official bootloader. It's the reverse bootloader I have, that I want to get rid of.

(or should I use Sansapatcher, rather than Rockbox Utility, to get rid of the reverse one?)

AlexP:
Just get Rockbox Utility to install the bootloader.  When you boot the Sansa firmware to allow it to update it will overwrite it fine.

jyang:
Thanks! Did it, worked fine.  :)
