Try to sync my music but then it freezes

(1/1)

witter:
So just installed Rockbox on my Sansa Fuze mp3 player. Looks really good.
Made a playlist of 800 songs that I want to put on my mp3 player. So I put them all in the sync list and start to sync them all in Windows Media Player. It's starting to sync but after a couple of songs it just freezes. I can't use the Sansa Fuze anymore and WMP doesn't do anything.

Windows Media Player tells me the device is full, but it's not! There's 4GB left of space!
I disconnect the device from my PC and have to wait a few minutes to turn it on again...

This also happens in iTunes...

This has not happened before. (haven't tried it in a long time!) I think it just started having this problem when I installed Rockbox.

Any help?  :-
Post Merge: May 09, 2012, 05:34:25 PMI have tried a clean install and it still doesn't work. The songs start to sync but after a couple of songs (differs from 5 to 20) it just stops... And I have to remove my mp3 player.

heellooooooooooooooo
Post Merge: June 20, 2012, 06:21:34 PMthis is really annoying. it happens in WMP, Itunes and MediaMonkey!

Serenity:
I have 3 Fuze v2 and 1 v1, and all of them freeze and turn off when files are written to the device (but not during constant reads, strangely). Digging through the Rockbox forum, I found a mention that sometime after Rockbox v3.9 the USB got a little quirky.

Try installing Rockbox release 3.9 (it may break a few themes) and see if it stays connected. Otherwise, if you don't have a microSD card bigger than 4GB, you can boot into the original Sansa firmware (hold << while powering on), connect in MSC mode and sync that way.

I downloaded the 3.9 firmware but how do I install it? I have removed the other 3.11 firmware of Rockbox but there is no option to install 3.9

You say "Otherwise, if you don't have a microSD card bigger than 4GB, you can boot into the original Sansa firmware (hold << while powering on), connect in MSC mode and sync that way.", do you do that too? It works I think...

EDIT

Ok switching to original Sansa firmware and then syncing all my files WORKS! Thanks.
