Ok, so I was just able to reproduce the problem. Turned out that it was caused by installing the UMS bootloader on a MTP device -- installing the correct bootloader solved the issue (just put the player into UMS mode and reinstall the bootloader using Rockbox Utility). Unfortunately both bootloaders have the same file size, so it's not possible to tell from that if you have the correct one. Please check if you possibly have installed the wrong bootloader. There are versions of the H10 around that have a USB ID Rockbox Utility doesn't know (yet) about, so it's possibly that detection went wrong.

As for fixing the system files (if you're interested in having the Iriver firmware functional) there are files available at Irivers website (don't have the links around right now, though).
