Micro sd card error using Rockbox with a Sansa clip+

(1/1)

jamster:
Hi,

I am unable to copy/delete etc files onto a 16Gb micro sd card whilst connected to the PC using rockbox  on a  Sansa clip+ .I receive a "Cannot Copy <filename> : Parameter Incorrect  " message
Though I can copy/delete etc files whilst using the original sansa firmware .

Whilst listening to music with rockbox I can browse and listen to the files on the SD card ,though when I try to delete a file on the micro sd card in rockbox the screen shows *PANIC* Flush_fat_sector()-could not write sector 116 (error-3) .

I've Tried re-installing the sansa firmware ,rockbox latest stable version and also reformatting the sd card ,even though it works fine with the OF, but the problem remains .

Any suggestions appreciated  ;D

UPDATE:

It seems this maybe a issues with the 16GB Class 4 micro sd card I was using .I tried a 2 GB Class 2 micro sd card and everything works as it should .
Maybe it's common for 16GB cards to have errors as this is the second 16GB byte card I've had problems with though I have two 2 GB which work fine .

As far as I can trace this in the code, the error occurs after some problem with the sd card has been detected and rockbox tries to reinitialize the sd card without success (timeout).

Can you reproduce this reliably?

jamster:
yes ! every-time I try and delete a file from the sd card I get the *PANIC* message and  rockbox crashers, then restarts without remounting the SD card .

Though, like I said, all works well with a 2 GB card .I'm thinking of buying a new 16GD Class 2 card (same class as the 2GB) in the hope that I'll get third time lucky with 16GB card that work's correctly .

I've also had problems with data being corrupted with my smart phone and the last two 16GB cards ,whilst the 2 GB worked well.
