Installation / Removal > Rockbox Utility

Newbie, just don't understand how to get the bin file. Sorry.

Hi,

I know these types of posts are annoying and I'm really sorry but I have read and reread the manual and I just don't get it.

I am using the utility. I have a sansa fuze, everything is fine until the message pops up about the bin file. I have searched the wiki and got onto the sandisk forum page, running v2 but I just don't understand what I have to do.

I already have the sansa updater, updated my player two days ago but when you start the updater it doesn't give you a folder with the firmware in it, just downloads it straight away. Also I am English so do I need to download the language files.

Once again I know I'm being a little thick but I would appreciate anyone who gives me the steps in child speak.

The sansa forums (where I assume you downloaded the sansa updater) also have a link to the firmware itself -- it's in the same post but a bit further down -- usually something like "Manual Firmware Update". That download link will give you a zip file which you can point Rockbox Utility directly to (recent versions can extract the firmware file from the zip automatically), or extract it to get the bin file.

Thanks. What I actually needed to do is download the 'all languages' link. This is the one with the two files. I was avoiding it because I speak English, doh!  ::)
