Over 32k songs on playlist?

(1/1)

djfonplaz:
I have actually 35k tracks in my iPod 5.5 with 240gb rockboxed. I see I can reach the 32k limit for playlist.

So, if I would like to have all my tracks, can I go over this limit? Or is it impossible?

Thanks

JdGordon:
You'll need to modify the source code to allow for more files, that limit is prety arbitrary (it is a tradeoff between how many files you usually want in a playlist and how much memroy you want to waste on it.

You can (I tihnk) create a .m3u on your computer with all the files (or even in rockbox) and it will happily play that even if it is more than 32k files.

djfonplaz:
When I generate the playlist, it adds ALL tracks into the .m3u (35k+ tracks).

The problem is when I load it to the memory. That's the limit. Where can I edit it in the "source code"? Is there a tutorial somewhere?

Thanks

gevaerts:
I don't know if this will work, but you could try hand-editing .rockbox/config.cfg and increasing the number there.

djfonplaz:
It seems to works as well :) Thank you!
