Questions about nano 1g
« on: May 01, 2012, 12:51:08 PM »
Hi there!
So far, I'm a happy user of Rockbox on my ipod nano 1g. The disability of the apple firmware to shut down the ipod correctly alone makes the choice really easy ::)
But I've got a few questions:
1) Does my nano support recording sound via the headphone jack? The OF can't do it, but still I'm not sure. If it does, is Rockbox support planned for that?
2) When I run a battery benchmark with music playing, do i need to plug in the headphones or is the battery consumption the same without?
3) When the ipod ran out of battery with the of (which started to happen regularly after some time because you cannot shut it down with it only set it to standby mode) it said I should restore it with iTunes. Will the same thing happen when it runs out of battery with Rockbox?

Thanks

1)  No
2)  Yes, the headphone will use some power.
3)  Shouldn't happen in either firmware, but if it does in the Apple firmware its possible it might in rockbox too.
