ClipZip stopped running on Rockbox 1.2.13

(1/1)

pmennen:
I used my Sansa ClipZip for a few weeks with the shipped firmware, and then yesterday I loaded Rockbox (with the Runner's theme). It seemed to be working fine, so today I added a few more albums to it and took it with me on a run. When I started out, it said 90% in the upper left corner (which I assumed was the percent of battery life remaining??) After about 50 minutes, the player just stopped. The display went blank and there was no response to the power button. I tried charging it up using a wall USB charger, but no change. When I plug it into my computer, the computer indicates that an unknown USB device was attached. Can anyone suggest a way to get the player started again?
Thanks
~Paul

Try holding the power button for 30 seconds

Ok, I tried that but it still doesn't come up. When I release the button the drive now appears in the file manager, but I get a message that it is unformatted. What should I do now? Should I try formatting it (to what file system?) and then copy the rockbox files to the root drive?

Thanks

Just for the record, there is no Rockbox 1.2.13 (and there never was such a version, neither for the Clip Zip nor any other player). There is Rockbox Utility which currently is version 1.2.13, but that's the installer tool and its version number is not related to Rockbox in any way.

Please be careful not to mix up version numbers. People might get confused, and at least I always get confused when reading the topic of this thread.
