Hi,

With voice enabled (francais.voice), my sansa clip+ boot then i have to wait about ten seconds before i can use it, is it usual ?

Thanks

That sounds much worse than it "should" be.

Did you generate talk files as well? or just enable voice menus?

nonob:
Hi :)

(I edited my first message: it take 20 seconds.)

First i'd just enabled voice menu but being french i would like french voice, so i installed "ScanSoft Virginie_Dri40_16kHz " and i used rockbox utiliry to create voice file.
I used default encoder settings, i just selcted "french" and virginie voice in TTL settings.
So, an file named francais.voice has been created, its size is about 2MB.
I don't need anymore the english.voice file so i deleted it.

I use 2 config files, the first named "N" with voice disabled, the second named "V" with voice enabled.

If i load "N" then reboot my clip, then i load "V", there is no waiting.

But if my clip boot directly on "V", there is waiting.

For testing i deleted my francais.voice file and reinstalled only english.voice with rbutility, then i change my language to english to enable voice:
I have the same problem, soit isn't a probleme with my own voice file.

Thanks
