Jukebox Studio 10 & Windows 7 upgraded to CF card

(1/1)

turkeyssr:
I haven't had any luck finding drivers to make the Jukebox Studio 10 work with Windows 7.  Does anyone have any drivers or further information?  Also, I upgraded the hard drive to compact flash.  Does this interfere with either XP or Windows 7 recognizing the player?  Thank you.

I would recommend you download a copy of Ubuntu 11 which you can run off a usb flashcrive or CD.  Ubuntu recognizes the older Archos studio and recorder models.

gevaerts:
Some people use a linux VM with USB passthrough, and samba in the linux VM to share the Archos filesystem back to the windows system

I *finally* finished this project with the forums help.  I can't stand to waste things and throw them away, which was the motivation to continue.  I didn't have any issues getting the Transcend 32GB CF card to work with the Studio 10.  I had to run Ubuntu in order for the Jukebox to be recognized and be able to move files to it.

Why such a long delay?  I started on 04/22/12, and lost my job on 05/02/12.  I lost motivation as other priorities took over.

Why bother doing this at all?  I don't like throwing things out that work, and why not?  It's still a great player, it's easy to create playlists and manage, and as time goes on, fewer people have them (novelty perspective).

I hope this information helps someone else that may come across an old Archos Jukebox player to recycle it instead of pitching it.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to respond and give me motivation to continue.
