Aux doesn't involve any recognition. Its just analog out. Do you mean the iPod dock cable?

If the current version doesn't work, its probably that your car has some newer flavor of the apple accessory protocol then we support.

I have an elantra as well, and I have always found the USB feature to be finicky at best. My old iPod works, but my iPad has never worked. I use the clip zip though, so I just use the analog port, which works perfectly.
