HE-AAC v2 works in Sandisk Sansa Clip+?
(1/1)
Felipe:
Hi,
I am planning to buy a cheap player (Sandisk Sansa Clip+) to get my audiobooks there. However, they are mostly encoded employing HE-AAC v2 (16-32 kbps). In the corresponding rockbox manual appears as a supported format but I have seen some comments stating that it is more of a theoretical support and a powerful CPU only present in high-end players is required. I don't know whether these comments are still valid or outdated due to an improved implementation of the decoder.
Before I buy the player, could someone please confirm that HE-AAC v2 files can be played flawlessly on them? (or otherwise tell me to forget about the idea) And if it does work, does the playback of these files drain the battery much faster than mp3 files or the lower bitrate compensates for the increased decoding complexity?
Thank you very much in advance for your help!
saratoga:
They work and will drain the battery faster.
Felipe:
Thanks, Saratoga!
