iPod 3rd Gen is not detected on Win7 only WITH Rockbox

(1/1)

chr1s:
Hello,

i have found my very old iPod 3rd Gen, and i installed Rockbox. But if i am booting Rockbox, Win7 doesnt detect it, so i cant move my music on it.

If i use the Workaround - booting the original FW - it works to move the music to my iPod.

But i got another problem, if i go to the "file browser" and access the Folder "/music/ - where my music is - i can see all my music, thats OK!!

BUT!! if i move to "database", i can ONLY see ONE "Album" of my music.

why happens this?

_______________

what i tried till now:

- reinstalled rockbox
- installed different versions of rockbox
- tried different USB ports
- tried a second Win7 PC
- restart/reset the iPod

greetings chris

torne:
We don't support USB on the 3rd gen ipod, sorry, it has different USB hardware to the others. We also don't support firewire on any model. You will have to boot either the Apple firmware, or the Apple emergency disk mode, to access it from your PC.

chr1s:
ah ok, thank you!
