Switching from 3.1 to 3.11 theme problem

Hi

I've just switched from rockbox 3.1 to 3.11 on my iAudio X5 but the custom modified Cabbie 2 is not working anymore.
On loading the theme, all I have is the default while playing screen.
My question is : were there modifications done to the build that made my theme not working anymore ? And what can I do ?

Do you mean you upgraded from 3.10 which was released on 7 December 2011 and not a very, very old version?  If that is the case, the first thing I would check is if you currently have all the fonts installed that the theme is needing to work properly. If not, Rockbox will fall back gracefully to the default theme.

In fact, its from 3.3 to 3.11 (because I did buy another X5) and yes, the fonts are there as well as all other needed files (As I have two X5, I transfered all needed files from old to "new" one)

The WPS format changed. You need to convert yours to the new format (there's some information in the wiki, I don't have the link around right now).

I checked the link but it seem a bit to complicated for a newbie like me...

Could some please tell me which file(s) I have to modifiy ? Only cabbiev2.wps ? What about the remote rwps ?

Also, how do I use skinupdater in Win 7 ? If I run it I only see a DOS window for 1/2 second and nothing happen to the file...

Technically there is nothing like a DOS window, since there is nothing like DOS anymore on modern Windows. It's a command line program, so you need to run it from a command line prompt.

You can try dropping the wps / rwps on the executable. Haven't tried if that actually works though.

I would just edit the default Cabbiev2.wps to suit your needs rather than updating an out of date skin. The only difference I see in your skin and the Cabbiev2 is just a couple of displayed lines. I've attached my attempt at updating your theme. Just copy and paste what you need into cabbiev2.wps.

Thanks for your hard work but unfortunately, it doesn't work....when selecting your cabbiev3.wps as the While Playing Screen, I only get the default Rockbow screen...

Maybe someone will see what's wrong below....

Because there is no cabbiev3 image folder. Either copy the existing cabbiev2  folder and rename that to cabbiev3 or edit the existing cabbiev2.wps file. I recommend editing the cabbiev2.wps file since it is known to work and your custom changes are minimal.

Could someone please help me converting my .rwps (remote while playing screen) for the remote control of my iaudio X5

I already have the .wps converted as thanked above but still don't find how to convert it for the above 3.6 firmware
