Installation / Removal > Rockbox Utility

A quick search within the forums shows that release dates for ALL aspects of RockBox are never promised. Why do you want developers taking time for pointless question?
Now, I could be very wrong here. I am assuming that functionality within rockbox is the same with or without whatever sansa firmware is on your unit. Are you finding a difference?

When it's done. Period.
Seriously, what's the point of this question? There are firmware versions known to work, and Rockbox Utility tells you which versions those are. Use one of those. Why on earth do you need a different one?

I think it's a valid question, no need to be so defensive around here (I suppose most of the counter-questions asked are rhetorical).
The current situation is that the utility to check and patch the original firmware (mkamsboot) has been updated last weekend to support OF version v1.1.20, in our source archive. There is no specific schedule for inclusion of mkamsboot into, or of release of RockboxUtility, so we can't tell you when it's possible to install it using the automatic way.
If you really want to, you can check out the source for mkamsboot from the source archive, build it yourself, build a rockbox bootloader from source code and create and install a new combined bootloader. This is for advanced users only, you need to know how to build the arm toolchain under linux for example.

Thank you for a civil, non condescending reply. I'm 60 years old and not a computer geek. What may seem obvious to some people is not obvious to me. I'm reverting back to the .18 OF and trying that. Thanks again.
