Best Sandisk Sansa for RB
« on: April 11, 2012, 10:18:13 AM »
Hi,
I was thinkin about getting a Sansa for gym and alot of gym forums say Sansa Clip Zip with RB.
However, since RB is a little unstable, I was wondering which Sansa would be the best to get with RB, I dont need anything fancy on an mp3 player.
So which Sansa would be the best to get for RB?

- Thanks

They're basically the same player with a different screen.

Thanks, im probably better off gettin the clip+ since the RB is more stable and generally cheaper.
How is RB on zip? any major issues?

What exactly gives you the impression of Rockbox being "a little unstable"?

It says on the homepage....

Unstable ports

Rockbox runs on these players, but is incomplete, less usable or has problems that limit it to advanced users:
SanDisk: Sansa c200v2 series, Sansa Fuze+ and Sansa Clip Zip

So I wasn't sure if it was a biggie or just minor things

I have 3 clip+ and 2 clipZip in my family, all rockboxed.

2 of the clip+ players, their power button has broken (switch broke off circuit board).

The Zip has an improved, wider, probably sturdier power button.

I would not buy another clip+ because of this.

Rockbox works fine on the clip-zip but the themes are sparse and immature, docs, etc.

Stuff you will miss on the clip-zip will be themes, backgrounds, manuals, etc.

Stuff you will miss on the clip-plus will be the ability to turn it on when the power button breaks.

(They are still sort of usable, inserting a usb cable turns it on, and who needs a stop button?)
