Duplicate files in database and can't find the Trashes
« on: April 05, 2012, 07:38:33 AM »
Hi all, I'm new to this forum and Rockbox.

I just installed Rockbox on my Clip Zip and have put all my music onto a Micro SDHC, then I decided to replace some of the mp3 files on there with lossless and redid the database. Despite clearing the mp3 files they still appear in my database. I've used DiskTidy and have cleared the trash with the card mounted on my Mac but these files are still there, located in Trashes according to Rockbox.
I thought I'd try and find this folder but have had no luck so I can't clear them manually.

Any help would be appreciated.

Don't worry, have managed to figure it out myself. If this happens to anyone else you need to open Terminal and type:

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES

Once you've done this hit CMD+Alt+Esc and restart finder, this will allow you to view all hidden folders and files. You can then access the Trashes on your card/device and delete the duplicate files.

When you're done, empty your trash and then open terminal again and type:

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles NO

Restart finder again and you're set. Probably best to re-hide special files so you don't accidentally delete them.

As a note on this, does anyone know how to use DiskTidy to clear the trash on SD cards because it looks like it's only doing it on the Sansa?
