Yep, I got a new Clip+ this week and installed the latest rockbox on it. With my old one I'd been booting to the original firmware whenever I plugged it in, which was annoying in Windows 7 as it meant it'd pop up the crappy sansa window in explorer.

With the new firmware I basically had the problems described in this thread:

I plugged it in from off for the first time in windows 7 and it loaded up the rockbox firmware but driver installation in windows failed.
I then unplugged it and plugged it into a different USB port and it installed the firmware and showed the drives, but they were inaccessible. When I unpluged it, I realised rockbox had hung.
I then shut down and restarted rockbox before plugging it in a third time to a third USB port. It said it was plugged in, but wasn't showing the drives.
I then went into device manager and did a "detect hardware changes" and the drives magically showed up and were accessible.

It now shows up every time I plug it in, even when swiched off, but only after around 30 seconds.

tl;dr turn your clip+ on first, then plug it in and scan for hardware changes and it should fix it

Thanks for the info :D  I'm also running Win7 and this worked for my ClipZip.

Updating to one of the latest dev builds fixed it for me.

I seriously think a new stable version should be released as this problem is affecting lots of people.

I have no problem with Win XP. But on Win 7 it not work. Device driver intallation been correct, but I have no access to sansa's embedded  disk and microSD.

I have 3.11.2 installed on both a FuzeV2 and a FuzePlus. Works OK on the Plus.

On the FuzeV2 I continue to get "USB device not recognized". Tried with a later build than the Release one, and get same results.

If I remove unknown hardware via Device Manager, and rescan for changes, I can get it to work ONCE, then back to error for subsequent plugins.

This is on Win-XP, SP3

I'm using 3.11.2 and here is my error pattern,
Coldboot > Home screen > Connect USB > Everything OK
Coldboot > Home screen > WPS > Home screen > Connect USB > Hang or "Undefined instruction" and all kinds of nasty stuff

And if I set WPS as my starting screen, this just happens every time when I connect USB.
Also this one seems to be relevant - http://gerrit.rockbox.org/r/294, should it be merged?

Thanks Lost_gamer

I re-installed RB (latest build as of today), and leaving FuzeV2 on Home screen worked well for me.

It cannot be powered Off and then plugged in, it HAS to be powered ON, left on Home screen, and then plugged  in. (for anyone else who is watching).

Now if I can just remember to do that each time, I'll be fine.
