Time for an update...
I am now in the process of porting the whole installer to
NSIS - the installer script used for programs like Winamp, 7-zip etc. This will get rid of batch and make the move to an actual installer, therefore making it much more professional, tidy/portable and easier to code.
The process is going well at the moment, but as I am new to the NSIS code it might take a bit of time to do.
Also, I have come across the problem of the new iPod firmware versions for the 5G and Nano not making use of the sysinfo file (therefore destroying the automatic iPod detection feature). This problem is yet to be solved, and if it can't be, our last resort will be just to ask the user for where the iPod is etc.
Anybody got some feedback on either the move to NSIS or the Sysinfo problem?
