Sansa clip(8GB) shows just 4MB RAW memory.
(1/1)
goontosurf:
Hi to the rock-boxers
This Sansa clip(8GB) ran fine for 3 years now. but last week it looked like a sudden death.
It shows just 4MB RAW memory, when i hook it to the PC. Win XP can't read anything and also not formatting.
I tried the http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/SansaClipV2UnbrickingTutorial with PartedMagic up to point 80. But there is even not enough space to rewrite the original FW., so it failed at that point. Display stays black, no music at all. Battery is charging. So is it really bricked, or do I have any chance to get the 8GB Memory again?
any help would be great

I think a 4MB disk means the flash memory is broken or at least didn't power up with the rest of the system.
goontosurf:
Ok, that hurts more than it helps :'( but thank you anyway.
More or less i expected sth. like that.
A last try:
Is there a possibility, to check if it the flash memory is broken,
or if the power connection to the mem. device is interrupted somehow.
Anybody with an idea about the circuit layout of this board... measuring points?
