I installed Rockbox using Rockbox Utility V1.2.12 on my Sansa Clip+, after first placing the player in MSC mode.
I used the same utility version to perform an uninstall. I plugged in the player, then selected "Complete Uninstall" from the utility. It gave me success messages. My player now gives me a message "Plug USB Cable". When I do so, it says "Bootloader USB Mode", and I cannot do anything else with the player.
I cannot even shut the player off at this point. HELP!

While waiting, I found another post on the forum from someone who had the same problem. This is what I did:
1. Copy a version of Sansa Firmware onto the Clip+ root
2. Hold the power button until the player shut off
3. Turned the player back on - at this point, the (Sansa) firmware went though it's update process
4. The firmware update completed. I turned the player off & on, and it's back in Sansa only.
Thanks - hope this helps someone else. Apparently, from reading the other post, I had removed the main code but not the bootloader (strange, since I did it through the Rockbox Utility, and selected "Complete Uninstall - I would think that it would remove the bootloader as well; after all, it did say "Complete" !).
