[solved] Sansa Fuze v2 bricked (probably) by current build with USB enabled
« on: March 07, 2012, 02:02:44 PM »
Hello everyone,

I am happy user of Sansa Fuze v2 and Rockbox, who yesterday noticed that devel version of Rockbox for AMSv2 has USB support enabled. So I decided to give it a try -- installed current build from today, plugged in (Windows XP, if that matters), played around (no file operations) and unplugged. So far, so good.

Then I put SD card to the player, plugged in and played around again (this time I deleted some files from SD). Then when I unplugged my player, Rockbox panicked (don't remember exact error code). I tried to reboot Rockbox, but the player gives no reaction on anything (booting original firmware, plugging to computer, holding power switch for more than minute).

What should I do?

Might have to just wait for the battery to run dead.

I guess I'll be dead first, as player is off now. ;)

Sorry, I didn't put it clear: player gave one reaction after panic -- I turned it off, but it won't turn on again.

When you put it that way: I don't.

When I pressed power switch display and that blue ring went off. Usually I guess it means that player is indeed off, though in this special circumstances I can't be sure.

If you stick the headphones in do you hear a click or pop?  Should tell you if the amplifier is powered up at least.

I do hear some noise. You're right, it is on. :)

I'll wait then for the battery to run dead. Then I should plug in USB and try to run OF or Rockbox?

Just answered same question on IRC, and received reply for my question above, that this is what I should do. Thanks guys!

Hi,

battery has discharged and my Fuze works fine again.

Thank you once again for your help. :)
