Rockbox utility freezes at startup

The Rockbox utility freezes at startup for me. I run it as root, it opens, shows the dialog "This is a new installaiton of Rockbox... The configuration dialog will now open..." . I click OK, then nothing opens. Soon the program window darkens and stops responding. I close it and see the attached dialog.

My specs:
RockboxUtility-v1.2.12-64bit

I got it to install using the manual install. It was pretty easy.
