solved - Clip+: doesn't get a drive letter from win7

(1/1)

doh:
Heya!

Today my new shiny Clip+ arrived and i quickly discovered Rockbox is available for them.
So i installed 3.10 per RockboxUtility 1.2.12 and was happy.

Now i discovered my Clip+ doesn't get recognized by Windows 7 anymore when plugging it in.
So i searched the forum and found the "devices and printers" thing (delete the clip+ there and replug for re-detection) which doesn't work. (it reports an unknown device which apparently has a malfunction. it doesn't assign a drive letter.)

am i screwed or is there a way to fix this? (i read only now 3.10 is considered old and only later builds have usb support.. seriously? a usb mp3 player firmware with no usb support? hey, let's make a router firmware which can't handle ethernet..)

edit: oh my.. the left-click while booting to get into original firmware is brilliant, i totally overlooked that, thanks.

3.10 does not have a USB driver.  Instead, you need to use the sandisk firmware for USB mode, or update to a newer build that includes USB support (I strongly recommend doing the latter).
