How to use timestretch

Sansa Fuze v2, RB 3.1

I could really use the playback speed controls on this machine, but I simply cannot figure out how to access them reliably. I have tried the online manual:

to no avail. Enabling timestretch seems to have no effect. I am assuming that rebooting means turn off and turn back on.

I am certain this function works, I have seen the pitch menu in the past, but cannot figure out how to get it back.
