Sansa Clip+ doesn't get recognized

(1/2) > >>

firefiber:
Hi!

I put in Rockbox yesterday into my Sansa Clip+. It installed fine (save for a microSD card read error). Once I disconnected, and removed my SD card, it booted up, and I had rockbox running smooth.

Now, the problem is that my PC (or any other PC for that matter), doesn't seem to recognize the Clip+ anymore (as a portable media player or a USB/storage media). It just doesn't read it. So I can't move/delete my music or update/remove Rockbox.

The other problem (with the microSD card) is that if I insert it, then power on, it gets stuck at the boot splash screen, and right at the top it says "ATA error -3". I dunno why. I have to remove the card, and restart for it to work again.

Help?

gevaerts:
If you're running 3.10, you have to boot to the original firmware to get USB. To do that, hold the "LEFT" button while starting the player.

firefiber:
YAY! That worked. I didn't know that. Thanks!

Alas, the microSD card error is still there. Any advice on that? Each time I start the player, if the card is inserted, it'll get stuck on boot, and say "ATA error -3", and that's it. I gotta remove it, and start it, without the card.

Is the current version not compatible with cards or summat?

Thanks again! Got to my music again. :)

saratoga:
Try a newer build and see if the SD problem still exists.

hroder56:
@saratoga: What do you mean with "Try a newer build". Isn't "3.10" the newest build? (I´m sorry if this a stupid question)

Edit: ok, got it. There is a distinction between a (stable) release and an (unstable) build (http://build.rockbox.org/). Great, just an other thing i can mess with. Downloading now.
