Weird folder tracking on Sansa Clip+, Rockbox 3.10

(1/1)

urbanhusky:
Hi,

I have my music stored on the internal MUSIC folder. This folder contains various other folders and music files of varying format. I've set Auto-Change Directory.

My problem:
I start playback at the first song in the first subdirectory of MUSIC. ie MUSIC/A/01 JustAnExample.flac
This works fine and everything, I can skip ahead and it will play through all the subdirectories of MUSIC.

Things start to get wonky when skipping over the last song (or letting it finish) in the last, uppermost subdirectory (ie MUSIC/Z). The player then skips to the PODCAST directory and plays the first podcast. I'd rather like it if playback would stay in MUSIC but that's actually not the weirdest thing that's happening.

When I play the first song in the first subdirectory - and skip backwards, then I'm suddenly listening to the slotRadio Promotion Rev5.
If I skip forward, I'm NOT listening to MUSIC/A/01 but to the first song in MUSIC that is not in a subdirectory - ie. MUSIC/01 AnotherSong.flac
If I skip backwards now I'm listening to the last song of the last subdirectory, ie. MUSIC/Z/99 - lastSong.flac
Skipping forward puts me in the (locally stored, ie not on SD?) podcast again.
Skipping back plays the last song of the MUSIC directory, ie MUSIC/99 - anotherLastSong.flac
Skipping forward puts me back to MUSIC/A/01...

Summary: MUSIC/A/01 -back- PODCAST -forward- MUSIC/01 -back- MUSIC/Z/99 -forward- PODCAST -back- MUSIC/99 -forward- MUSIC/A/01

Generally skipping over these boundaries is really nonsensical.
I've already checked if I'm dreaming but since this seems to be reality, I have no explanation for this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
regards,
urbanhusky

I can confirm this.  Seeking backward does not proceed in the same order as forward in some circumstances.  For example:

A\Album1\track1.mp3
B\Album2\track2.mp3
C\Album3\track3.mp3

Seems to work as expected, but:

A\Album1\track1.mp3
B\Album2\track2.mp3
B\track2.mp3
C\Album3\track3.mp3

Will alternatively put track2 before and after track1.mp3 depending on if you come from track3 or track 1.  It seems the relationship between files and files in subdirectories is not consistently defined.
