You said, in your second post:

--- Quote ---No, it wont connect when iOS loaded as well. Disk mode does not work either.
--- End quote ---

But you have now also said that it *does* work when you boot the apple firmware, which contradicts that..

--- End quote ---
Uh... Yeah. I said it works WITH the hold switch on. In my first description of the problem I never mentioned the hold switch.

On a side note, may I ask a question:
Will rockbox run on my iPod if I format the disk to NTFS?

Turning the hold switch on is how you boot the apple firmware, so what were you doing before when it didn't work?

I tried the disk mode, apple firmware w/e hold and normal rockbox os loaded.
Alright, to prevent any misunderstandings: This worked for me:
-iPod is turned OFF
-Hold switch is ON
-Plug iPod into USB
-it boots the apple firmware
-the pc recognizes the iPod, I can access the disk

So, if I can understand you:

1)  The Apple firmware USB works fine
2)  Rockbox USB does not

Is that your problem?
