lrcplayer to edit lyric tags instead of lrc file

hi there,

i am using lyric tags in my audio files instead of separate lrc files and enter "Lyric" in that comment tag of the file, to have my WPS check the comment tag and display if the currently playing file has lyrics or not.
I do that because so far it isn't possible to have the WPS check for the presence of a matching lrc file.

But now for the actual problem:

if i have the lyrics in a tag and have to sync them using the lrc player, the player does not edit the tag, but instead creates  a separate lrc file. i then end up having the unsyncronised tag and the syncronised lrc file.
is there a way to make the lrcplayer edit the tag instead of creating a new lrc file?

I don't think theres any code at all in rockbox for editing tags.
