Sandisk e260R installation frustration
(1/1)
Beercanman:
I'm trying to help a friend get their e260R Rockboxed so she can use a 32gb memory card. I can't even get past the first step in the install process.
I can put the unit into manufacturer mode, but Windows 7 keeps saying that the driver isn't digitally signed and then the install doesn't seem to work right. I've tried online tips about how to disable Driver Signing but no success. FYI I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.
What should be fairly simple is really frustrating. I've been at this for hours. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

bluebrother:
Use a 32 bit machine / OS or a Linux live CD.
Beercanman:
I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for suggesting I try on a 32-bit machine. I found an old XP computer at home ... followed the step-by-step instructions ... and it worked flawlessly.
On behalf of my friend, Jasmine, thank you! Now that I've had the chance to see what Rockbox is about, I think I'll go search for an MP3 player for myself, too!
Cheers!
Steve
