I'd say it's dead for now.  I would have loved to work on it, but I got busy with other things.  I've learned to live with it's limitations since it does everything it's supposed to, just some things rather awkwardly.  Is yours not working?  I've heard similar issues from some people, I just don't know if the manufacturer is responsive, nor do I remember the warranty period.  If it's still under warranty, either through the manufacturer or your credit card company, you could try to get the issue fixed and then sell it if you don't like it.

Alternatively, you could sell it to me and when I finish building my house, I'll be able to use it to work on this project.  But I don't know if I'll have time even then.

I hate bringing back in threads from the dead, but from what I've read about this MP3 Player (I've just bought one) it's a nifty little piece of kit, but it's firmware lets it down (from the point of song shuffling), even if there was a rockbox edition to this mp3 player, would the shuffling even be fixed? (It can't shuffle between folders, only songs within a certain folder). Or is it handled by some other sort of thing? A chip or something?
