Song Playing Information TTL Out

Hey guys, I am trying to figure out a way to send a serial TTL signal with the name of the song that is playing out for other hardware to use. I am trying to do this for my band, I want it to send out the name of the song when my drummer starts the click track for a microcontroller to read and then start a stage lighting program so that everything is seamless and simple. Is there any way this could be done?

I am on an iPod Mini 2nd Gen.
