intermittent skipping during playback about every 10 seconds of some flacs

(1/1)

doublea71:
some of my flac files skip/have a gap of about 1/4 or 1/2 second during playback and it's annoying as hell. is it the source file? or the hdd? i have a ipod video...when i downloaded the files, i could only get it to my ipod by dragging it from the incomplete downloads folder, so perhaps it's correctly being read as incomplete. i used miro and i couldn't open the file in explorer because it said it had been deleted from outside of miro (which is very strange). maybe i need to stop using miro, eh? any ideas? not all downloads do this, but lately a lot have been deleted outside of miro after it's finished downloading. any ideas or suggestions for a better quality torrent site?

Buschel:
The files stutter during playback? Like 1s playback, short drop out, 1s playback, and so on?

doublea71:
about every 10 seconds there's a very short gap in sound. i think it must be the file because most of my music doesn't have this problem - i think it's just a bad file. torrents of stuff from hdtracks seems to have this problem a lot - perhaps it's a form of security that is embedded in the download to hamper sharing

Lear:
FLAC "HD" tracks, in particular tracks with high sample rates (96 kHz or more), may not play in realtime on an iPod Video.

(And they'll be downsampled to 44.1 kHz by Rockbox anyway, using an algorithm focusing on speed rather than quality.)

doublea71:
if they're downsampled, i'm basically wasting disk space, right? i wouldn't notice a difference between 24/96 and regular flac files because of the downsampling is what i'm gathering. makes sense...now i'm trying to solve the issue of battery life...wish me luck
