Upgrade original fw first?

Hi

I have the Sansa Clip+ and my firmware version is 01.02.15P. Should you upgrade the Clip+ firmware to the latest version (01.02.16 i think?) before installing Rockbox for the first time?

I want to use the 'SanDisk microSDHC Class 2 8GB' but I'm not sure if it will work on my Clip+ (unsure about the "class 2" thing) and I've heard the later Clip+ firmware version supports more memorycards.

Installing the rockbox bootloader is done by installing a patched original firmware, so if you want a specific version that's the right time to do it. There's no need to upgrade for rockbox.

All microSDHC cards should work. The class is a speed indication, not some sort of compatibility version.
