twice it will not turn off

I purchased a Go-Vibe for my daughter and it would not turn off and all that came from the ear buds was white noise and we exchanged it and the same thing happened to it,  it would not turn off and the battery had to run all the way down what is causing this .? I am about ready to look else where for a player

do you talk about the philips go gear and are you using the original firmware or are you using rockbox? There is also a philips go gear vibe, but that player is not supported by rockbox. If you have problems with that player and the original firmware I suggest to look for help in a philips forum.
